About Salicylic acid:

Salicylic acid is derivative obtained from willow tree.Salicylic acid is a anti-bacterial and anti-septic.Salicylic acid is keratolytic agent which means it unclogs pores, kills acne-causing bacteria, exfoliates and encourages shedding of dead skin cells thereby promoting new cells renewal. It works best on mild-moderate acne.

3)Salicylic acid can cause dryness or irritation.

4)This is a treatment cleanser so thorough cleansing is not its best property. It has to be followed by a neutral cleanser like Kaya Soothing Cleansing Gel.

Directions of use:

1)Apply a pump or two of Saslic on cleansed face.Spread the foam on entire face.
2)Leave it on for 20-30 seconds.
3)Rinse/wash your face with water.

Please read the disclaimer written below.

It is also available online on healthkartplus.com (Delivery to limited cities only)

Final Verdict:

I have used Saslic in the past few years. It works great on mild acne and it can be a good maintenance cleanser for acne prone skin.Major drawback it cannot cleanse properly so another cleanser is required.I did not face any side effects except for occasional dryness.I have used 2% and found it to be too strong for me and switched back to 1%.This is one of best salicylic acid face washes or cleansers available in India.

My Rating:4/5

Disclaimer:

  • Always start with the lowest concentration that is Saslic 1%.
  • Directly jumping to 2% Saslic is not advisable because 1% concentration is only quiet potent. You can gradually migrate to 2% if required after couple weeks.Unless you have very oily skin, 1% is more than enough for daily maintenance.
  • Do not leave it  on for more than a minute.
  • Do not apply the foam near sensitive areas like eyes and mouth.
  • It can cause dryness which is normal reaction, just follow up with a moisturiser.
  • Use a sunscreen during the day.
  • Use required quantity of foam, one or two pump is enough.
  • Salicylic acid products are suitable for mild-moderate acne with acne blemishes. It won't help severe acne or pitted acne scars.
  • Do not use Salicylic acid products with other strong treatments products like retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, isotretinoin etc.
  • If you see irritation then it is a sign that saslic is not suiting you. Then you can opt for Glycolic acid face washes like AHA Glow, Ducray Keracnyl Face wash or Glomed.
  • If Saslic is not working then you can try another product on the same lines,Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing foam and it suits all skin types and treats all degrees of acne.
