Lacto Calamine Review
Lacto Calamine is one of the oldest product in the market. Some of my friends swear by it and they do have great skin to prove it.When I was in my teens, a couple of them recommended to me saying it would help acne.I did not take it seriously back then.I was always wondered how such a small bottle can make a difference with Acne.Few months back,I bought myself one and started using and found it to be good moisturiser. So Today I am reviewing Lacto Calamine for Oily Skin.

Trigaine Shampoo Review
This is a Guest Post from Arpitha regarding a treatment shampoo called Trigaine for hair-fall,hair thinning problems.
Hi Guys. In this post I will be sharing my experience with Trigaine Shampoo. I was experiencing hair fall for a long time and it was bothering me a lot.I always wanted long and beautiful hair. I went to a Dermatologist and upon further blood tests,it was revealed that I was deficient in Iron leading to Anaemia which is one of the causes for hair fall.So after the diagnosis I was put on Iron and Vitamin D supplements. Also I was given Trigaine Shampoo. After few weeks of following this prescription,my hair improved significantly and hair fall was reducing gradually. I was so happy to see the progress. Now I have healthy and long hair.So I wanted to share my story with all of you facing the same problem :)

Proactiv Refining Mask Review
Today I will be reviewing my all time favourite face-mask for Oily/Acne Prone Skin known as Proactiv Refining Mask. This product is from Proactiv, which is widely popular in the US for their Acne-Kits, roping in big stars like Katy Perry,Justin Bieber as their brand ambassadors. Their Acne-Kits have been a hit or miss situation but this Refining Mask is their most popular product.
I am sure all of you there love to pamper yourself from time to time by trying these face-packs/masks. But the real question is do they really benefit your skin? Sadly most of the times NO! So far its like the only mask which has benefited acne-prone skin without aggravating my skin condition.
I am sure all of you there love to pamper yourself from time to time by trying these face-packs/masks. But the real question is do they really benefit your skin? Sadly most of the times NO! So far its like the only mask which has benefited acne-prone skin without aggravating my skin condition.
My Skin Type:
Oily/Acne-prone Skin.Ingredients:
Sulfur (6%),Water, Kaolin, Glycereth-26, Linoleic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Ceteareth-20, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Linolenic Acid, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Geranium Maculatum Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Tocopherol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butylene Glycol, Hydrated Silica, Ethoxydiglycol, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide.Price:
Rs 600 for 70grams.Availability:
2)To buy on Amazon, Click HERE.
1)It is Non-Comedogenic and does not break me out.
2)It contains amazing ingredients which benefit Oily/Acne-prone skin like firstly Sulphur(6%).Yes you heard it right, the same Sulphur which we read in Chemistry Periodic Table ;). It is also known for its acne-combating properties and is one of the best treatments for acne.
3)Then it contains Tea Tree Oil,Kaolin(Mineral Clay/Multani Mitti) which help with acne and sebum control.Geranium extracts is a powerful Anti-Oxidant and Anti-Inflammatory properties.Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extracts(Lemon grass) is a Antibiotic.
4)Zinc Oxide helps dry up active pimples.
5)This is fantastic mask for Oily Skin because it makes a lot of difference with treating acne.
6)This mask can also be used as a Overnight Spot-Treatment for pimples.By doing so it significantly reduces the pimple and heals quickly.
7)My skin feels squeaky clean and nice after washing my face.
8)It has a nice mud pack consistency which is easier to apply all over the face.
Con's:
1)It is not paraben-free.
2)It does have two mildly comedogenic ingredients but 6% Sulphur negates all of that.
3)People allergic to Sulphur cannot use it.
4)After removing the face-pack,the smell of Sulphur lingers around. This does not bother me but some may not like it.
5)The availability is an issue and it is bit expensive too.
6)It can render skin bit dry but nothing a good moisturiser can't fix.
Directions for Use:
1)Cleanse your face and pat dry using a towel.
2)Apply required quantity on entire face.
3)Leave it on for 10-15 minutes to dry.
4)Once it is dry, just wash your face and follow up with a Non-Comedogenic Moisturiser.
Final Verdict:
There are times when the uninvited pimples pop up,so this is my go to emergency treatment for acne.I use it 2-3 times in a week.I agree the price is expensive but it is totally worth the money. Availability is an issue since Proactiv is Exclusive does not cater to retail stores.Initially they use to sell this product as a package deal with the Proactiv Acne-kit. One good thing is now Individual products are available so need to buy the entire kit. This is so far only the Sulphur Face-pack/mask available in India as of now.
My Rating:4/5
Disclaimer:
1)People allergic to Sulphur steer clear of this product.
2)It is advisable not to use with strong acne treatments like Retinoids, Benzoyl Peroxide,Isotretinoin etc
3)If you are using this as a over-night treatment, use it only on the pimple and not the entire face.

What does Comedogenic and Non-Comedogenic mean?
For a while I have been saying use Non-Comedogenic products. So what does "Non-Comedogenic" mean? Is it really such a big deal?
For a very long time I was ignorant about Comedogenic/Non-Comedogenic concept.I did not know comedogenic products could create a havoc on Acne-prone skin.Later I was observing that whenever I used certain products,it would leads to pimples and worsen the condition. Then I realized these are comedogenic products and not all products are safe for our skin type.
- Comedogenic products block your skin pores and thereby leading to formation of pimples.
- Non-Comedogenic products on the other end do not block pores and are safe for acne prone skin.

Tips for Acne-Free Skin
These are some Essential Tips for Acne-prone skin I personally follow so I am sharing with you guys today. Hope this helps !
- Don’t pop your pimples. When you pop your pimples the bacteria within the Clogged pores comes out, which can further spread the infection and inflammation and also not to mention that if your hands are not clean when you pop your pimples, you can transfer more dirt, oil and bacteria and make your acne worse.
- Avoid touching your face.Although it’s difficult, limit the contact between your face and hands. If you must touch your face remember to wash your hands first.
- You have heard it before drink water and lots of it.The body needs water to properly hydrate the body, maintain blood pressure and elimination.Dehydrated skin, looks dry, can crack and can retain bacteria and toxins that is normally expelled through perspiration. Additionally water helps to maintain skins elasticity, which promotes cellular growth and repair. A proper amount of water to drink is 6-8 glasses daily.
- Eat a healthy, balanced diet. This includes eating fresh fruits and vegetables that are loaded with vitamins, minerals and water. Fruits and vegetables are easily digested and keep the flow of elimination in the body up to par. Caffeine, sugar and refined carbohydrates increase the oil produced within the sebaceous glands making acne more likely to occur.Eating a balanced diet keeps your skin healthy and nourished from the inside out. Healthy foods improve the look of your skin.

What is Thyroidism? Can it cause Acne?
This post I will be discussing how Thyroid malfunction affects our overall health and particularly skin problems like Acne along with other Side effects.
I had Mild/Moderate Acne in my Teens. I went to a Dermatologist to get myself treatment and it was taken care off. But suddenly last year I was under Acne Attack and was feeling low. It was back and could not figure out why??I thought it was Polycystic ovarian Syndrome(PCOS) but when I underwent a series of Tests.Later I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. Women are Commonly more affected by this than Men.This is actually more than serious than people think,so I would advise not to neglect and get treated.

A Guide to Chemical Peeling Procedure
Chemical Peeling is a Medical Procedure to Treat Acne as well Acne Scars/Marks.
A Chemical Peel involves application of a chemical solution on the skin and it is allowed to penetrate the skin for a few minutes. By doing this the new skin regenerates thereby destroying dead skin cells, unclogs pores which due leads to improvement in acne and hyper pigmentation.
The penetration of chemical peel depends on the type of peel used. The time for which the peel is left on the skin depends on type& concentration of peel, skin tolerance and degree of acne/pigmentation. Initially lower concentrations of the chemical peeling (salicylic acid, glycolic acid peel) is done and then gradually the concentration is increased. Depending upon the skin condition, it is moved to stronger peels like TCA peels, Phenol Peels. Nowadays with constant innovation, various kinds of peels & permutations are available in gel forms which are safer, not runny liquid with minimum side effects as they are buffered solutions.

Can Acne be treated? The Answer is Yes!
Acne affects about 60% of the world's population and yet unfortunately there is no permanent cure for acne.So acne can be treated but there are chances it will come back if proper skin care regime is not followed.Treating acne is all about maintaining a good skin care routine. Always consult a good dermatologist to treat acne.Irrespective of the degree of acne,it is always best to get treated by a Doctor at the earliest.

Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micelle Solution Review
Today I will be reviewing My HG Make-Up Remover from Bioderma. It is one of the most sought out Make-Up removers in the world.
Never go to bed with your Make-up On,it will clog pores and cause breakouts.I have done that, sometimes lazy to take off make-up and slept only to wake up with breakouts in the morning.Well lesson learnt the hard way! A Face wash alone is not sufficient to remove make-up specially the water proof ones.So using a proper Make-up Remover is a essential to remove all kinds of make-up before you retire to bed. This will help your skin breathe and prevent breakouts by unclogging pores.
